i'd hammer out danger

Believe it or not, my Adfreak job nets me a lot of hate mail. Some people DO NOT LIKE their disposable corporate propaganda being skewered by some punk on the Internet who thinks he's media. So color me shocked when I get something from a reader who isn't pointing out what a myopic asshole I am. He said, among other things, the following:

Nice Freak on the UK cyclists safety spot. Had no idea who Walter Hill was, but you made me Wiki him up. (The name still doesn’t mean much to me—not a big Deadwood fan—but so what?) Point is, there really is likeable quality to this spot, and I wouldn’t have seen it without you pointing it out. Thanks.

Walter Hill, it should be known, has more on his resume than Deadwood. He was also part of the braintrust behind The Warriors and Streets of Fire, both of which have gritty, neon-lit urban settings. The latter film has Willem Dafoe in leather overalls too, which may or may not entice people into seeing it. I highly recommend both movies, though.

Oh, and here's a link to my write-up of the UK cyclists safety ad, just so people know what I've been talking about.
